Recent Developments
I asked Jackson for a kiss a few weeks ago and was surprised when he leaned over and put his mouth on my cheek. I thought it was a coincidence so I tried a few minutes later. He did the same thing. Sometimes, he'll even grab my face with both hands and give me a slobbery kiss. Jackson also learned to clap last week. Now every time I say "clap!", he'll excitedly put his hands together and clap with the biggest smile ever.
Jackson also understands when he isn't supposed to do something, like play with our shoes. Every time he crawls in that direction, he'll look back expecting me to say "come back here." As soon as I do, he displays his mischievous smile and crawls even faster towards the shoes.
Babies understand way more than we give them credit for!

Sleep Update
Jackson is 10 months old today!
Last night he slept from 7:30pm to 6:30am. He only woke up once at 11:30pm and yelped for two minutes before falling asleep again. This might be a fluke or may be related to the addition of mixed grain cereal to his dinner last night (veggie and egg yolk). Jackson also had a piece of cheese after dinner. Whatever it is, I'm going to replicate the routine and hope for another long stretch of uninterrupted sleep :)

Down the Shoot!
Jackson learned to put the ball into the slot and push it down the shoot. Then he'd bend down to retrieve the ball and do it all over again. It's amazing how fast he learns. Just a few days ago he was holding onto the ball with a death grip and wouldn't let go of it.
